Information You Submit
Search Terms
A name or location entered into a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Brown County Released Inmates does not store or log those query terms on its own system.
Messages
An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer it. We do not share the message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine logs and measurement tools may collect technical details when a page loads:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- The referring site, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete them, though blocking cookies may cause some functions to behave differently.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable speed
- Send a search request to the selected partner
- Measure which Brown County resources visitors find useful
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
External Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to Brown County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, public portals, or outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy terms govern its collection and use of data.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs under the advertising provider's practices, not as a Brown County government process.
Recipients of Information
We do not sell personal information. Data may be handled by:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site activity
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Security Limits
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet service is immune from every breach, mistake, or unauthorized act, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted personal data, use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Ask that eligible data be erased
- Opt out of processing where that right applies
